Guaitil is a small community located between Santa Cruz and Nicoya. It is one of the best arts and crafts centers in the country, were the tradition of ceramic Works still lives, just as it was developed by the Chorotegan Indians who inhabited Guanacaste more than 5,000 years ago.

In this tour you are going to get a glance at the Costa Rican Community by just visiting Santa Cruz, the folklore capital of Costa Rica. The small village of Guaitil is home to the last descendants of the Mayans in our country. Proud of their heritage, they have protected much of their culture, especially their ceramic art. Admire how they hand shape mud into pottery painted with natural soil colors, just like their ancestors did thousands of years ago.
