Take the road bordering the Arenal Lake, passing the dam and the town of Nuevo Arenal. Go straight through the town of Tilarán and follow the signs to Cañas. Once in Cañas take a left on the main Interamerican Highway (Carretera Interamericana) South.

Stay on the highway and watch and follow the signs for the Puente de la Amistad (bridge over the Tempisque River). Follow the bridge signs that are positioned on the right side of the highway for a right turn (note: there is a Shell Gas Station and a restaurant with a big fake bull on the left side of the road here).

From here turn right and drive following the signs to Puente de la Amistad through a nice concrete road. Once you cross the bridge continue driving following the signs to Nicoya.

Take a left turn at the intersection with a 4-way red flashing light, which will take you into Nicoya. Go straight through town without turning, and continue southward on the main paved road for approximately 30 Km (following the signs to Samara and Nosara).

Almost before you get to the entrance that takes you to Nosara there is a gas station on the left side (note: this gas station is the last chance for gas!).

Just past the gas station, the highway curves sharply left. At the apex of the curve, turn right, heading downhill, onto a small dirt road which leads to Nosara. Continue to follow the signs to Nosara now. It will take you about 45 min. to an hour to get there.

The road twists and turns going through several small towns and villages. Stay always on the “main” road.

Turn right at the T-intersection in Barco Quebrado in order to stay on the main road - it should be marked.

Arrival to Nosara (Playa Guiones) will be made obvious by signs, surf shops, restaurants, hotels, and so forth. The Harmony Hotel is located on Playa Guiones. From the Hotel Cafe de Paris (located on the left), turn left and go another 200 meters towards the beach. Harmony’s entrance will be on the right.
