There’s a rich, beautiful world to discover right outside the Harmony’s doorstep. Whether you are interested in hiking or horseback riding the Guanacaste region will not disappoint. Our front desk team can help arrange any excursions or tours that you’d like to explore, and will offer the most up to date information on pricing, timing, and other details.

Ostional Sea Turtle Excursion
During peak nesting times between September and November, hundreds of thousands of sea turtles come to shore to lay their eggs at nearby Ostional.  These mass arrivals, or arribadas, usually occur a few days before the new moon, and are best viewed at night.  The beach is approximately 30 minutes north, and we can arrange a tour that includes transportation and the required local guide.  Read more here.

Saddle up
Take a peaceful sunset horseback ride along Playa Guiones, led by an experienced local guide.

Explore nearby beaches
While we’re known as one of the world’s best surfing beaches, the ocean at Guiones beach is great for swimming.  The nearby beaches of Garza and Pelada are also easy to get to options for enjoying the sea, and there are many other unique and beautiful beaches within driving distance. Note that there are no lifeguards on local beaches, and there can be rip currents, so normal precautions are necessary.

Reconnect to nature
Go hiking along the Nosara trail system, explore the Lagarta Lodge Nature Reserve, or head out with our friends at Experience Nosara on a birding or waterfall hike adventure.  Explore what members of our community are doing to help protect local wildlife at SIBU Sanctuary.

Get your adrenaline going
Scale a freestanding rock climbing tower at Climb Nosara, fly through the forest on a Zipline Canopy Tour, or explore our natural surroundings up close and personal on a guided ATV tour or mountain bike adventure.

Get wet
Experience Nosara offers a variety of kayak and stand-up paddle experiences for all levels.  Prefer being underwater?  Head to the nearby beach of San Juanillo, which is great for snorkeling.

Learn something new
Visit a sustainable coffee farm in the mountains of nearby Hojancha, or tour the plant nursery of local organization Barriguiones and volunteer to plant a tree to help them bring the forest back to the beach.  Get to know our community by visiting a local school, or brush up on your Spanish skills at the local language institute.

If you prefer to stay put at the Harmony, we offer a green living tour where you will learn more about the Harmony’s sustainability efforts and the native plants in our gardens.
