Joe Skobi builds a kiln for Harmony

Just around the corner from the hotel, our friend and ceramicist Isabella Artale helped us establish a new ceramics studio that will be open to the Nosara community in the future. During July, San Diego based ceramics artist Joe Skoby visited Harmony as our artist in residence to help set up the studio with wheels, materials, and a firing kiln. Joe led workshops for local kids and members of Harmony staff to share some basic throwing techniques, and also created a beautiful collection of his unique works of art. Some of these pieces are still available for sale through La Tiendita, and all proceeds will be used to help local kids learn to use the ceramics studio.
