From September 5 to 10, 2027, Harmony Hotel opens solely for a small-group silent retreat led by Marcy Crawford. The retreat is open to newcomers and experienced meditators alike.
Meditation is a simple practice of paying attention to what is happening, moment by moment. Practiced steadily, it settles the mind and opens the heart. Over five days, Marcy will give step-by-step instruction in mindfulness and lovingkindness meditation. The days move between sitting and walking practice, with instruction each morning, a wisdom talk each evening, a gentle yoga class, and meetings with Marcy. Meals are shared family style.
This is a substance-free retreat, and you will be asked to turn off and put away all electronic devices upon arrival. Retreat participants hold silence from the opening talk on Sunday evening to the closing session on Friday, with speaking limited to one-on-one meetings with Marcy.
Give yourself some freedom from persistent overstimulation and external demands as we create a supportive space for cultivating greater inner calm, spaciousness, and compassion. With clear guidance and the support of others practicing alongside us, we learn to stay with whatever comes, meeting all of it with patience and kindness. Because the practice builds from day to day, we ask that you commit to all five days: arrive on time, stay to the end, and settle your work before you come.
